Wellness Center's Cooking Competition
The Sky Lakes Wellness Center is hosting a cooking competition for first responders! Please read this page before registering your team!

Event Details:

The event will take place at the Sky Lakes Wellness Center, located at 128 S. 11th Street. Please call us at 541-274-2770 with questions.

  • Date: Thursday, October 19, 2023
  • Time: 11:00am-1:00pm
  • Theme: Chili!
  • Four teams of 2 participants will compete
  • Judges will select the winning team

Prizes

  • Winners will receive a golden gnome and a $50 coffee card (per competing team member)

Application requirements:

  • Create a team of two members plus on alternate (make sure you have a fun team name!).
  • Submit your team application by Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
  • Selected teams will be notified by phone and email on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

Competition Rules:

  1. Teams will consist of two main competitors with one designated back-up.
  2. Cooks must incorporate all five mystery ingredients into their dish. Cooks may also use provided pantry ingredients.
  3. All cooks must make a chili, but they are allowed to make additional dishes such as appetizers, sides, and desserts in order to utilize all mystery ingredients.
  4. Cooks have a one-hour time limit. All cooking and plating must be done within the allotted 60 minutes. Anything done after the 60 minutes will not count and may result in a disqualification.
  5. All food must be from and prepared on site.
  6. No sabotaging any other competitors' dishes or taking their food.
  7. Non-monetary bribing of judges and other competition officials is allowed. All bribes offered, whether accepted or not, will be made public during the competition.

Judges and officials will have final say over any disputes or rule violations.

Failure to follow any of these rules may result in disqualification.
