SJS Awareness Oregon Donates to Sky Lakes Pediatric Unit Patients

Members of SJS Awareness Oregon generously gifted toys, stuffed animals, and DVD players to our Pediatric Unit. The donation was accepted by Paul Ocón, RN, director of Maternal and Child Health at Sky Lakes Medical Center October 24, 2022.

Their donation included bags of stuffed animals, a variety of fidget toys, art supplies and coloring books for a range of age groups, movies, and six new DVD players for patient rooms.

“A huge component to healing in pediatric care is the importance of distraction, and the normalcy of play. You have played a part in the care of these children spending time on the Pediatric Unit” said Ocón. Thank you so much for your generosity.

SJS Awareness Oregon is a non-profit that educates people in Klamath Falls, Oregon and surrounding areas about Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS). SJS and TENS (Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis Syndrome) are severe adverse reactions to medication.
