Sky Lakes volunteers are valued members of the Sky Lakes Medical Center family. The caring Volunteers contribute in excess of 500 hours week in support of Community needs . You can identify our volunteers by their volunteer smocks.
Our volunteers provide compassionate care while maintaining a commitment to service, giving a personal touch to the medical excellence at Sky Lakes Medical Center.
This American Hospital Association video, The Power of One, outlines some of the ways volunteers are active partners with the medical center in the community.
At Sky Lakes, volunteer projects include:
- Greeting patients and visitors at the Information Desk.
- Hosting and helping the American Red Cross Blood Drives held at Sky Lakes: five per year.
- Quilters who provide quilts to Cancer Treatment Center patients.
- Delivering books and magazines to patient waiting areas.
- Helping to run The Link Gift Shop located in the lobby of Sky Lakes Medical Center.
- Delivering gifts and flowers to patients.
- Helping in the delivery of care to many Sky Lakes departments including, but not limited to the Cancer Treatment Center, and Day Surgery.
- Fundraisers in support of scholarships and initiatives for students pursuing careers in healthcare.
