Sky Lakes Awarded Gold Plus Award for Stroke Program

Sky Lakes Medical Center has again earned the “Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award” from the American Heart Association.

For 2021, Sky Lakes also qualified for the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognition.

The stroke-care award and the additional recognition honors the medical center’s commitment and success in implementing a high standard of care by ensuring that our stroke patients receive treatment that meets nationally accepted, evidence-based standards and recommendations.

“By applying the most up-to-date evidence-based treatment guidelines, patient outcomes improve,” said Ron Woita, RN, director of the Sky Lakes Emergency Department.”It’s that simple.”

Hospitals receiving the Get With The Guidelines Gold Plus Achievement Award have reached an aggressive goal of treating patients with 85% or higher compliance to core standards levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association for two consecutive calendar years.

Additionally, those hospitals have demonstrated 75% compliance to the AHA’s heart failure and stroke quality measures during the 12-month period.
