City of Klamath Falls Mayor, Carol Westfall proclaimed April 24-30, 2022 as Medical Laboratory Professionals’ Week in the City of Klamath Falls “to recognize Medical Laboratory Professionals within our community and thank them for safeguarding the health and wellness of our citizens.”

The proclamation was proposed by Regina (Reggie), clinical chemistry coordinator in the Sky Lakes Medical Center’s laboratory!

In the matter of proclaiming April 24-30, 2022 as…

“Medical Laboratory Professionals’ Week” in Klamath Falls, Oregon

Whereas, originating in 1975, Medical Laboratory Professionals’ Week is an annual celebration of medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in healthcare and patient advocacy;

Wheareas, dedicated clinical lab science practitioners are essential members of the healthcare team who work tirelessly to provide vital diagnostic information and laboratory services;

Whereas, during the Covid-19 Pandemic, medical laboratory professionals played a critical role in testing and monitoring patients, working behind the scenes at Sky Lakes Medical Center to ensure the health and well-being of our community’s citizens;

Whereas, laboratory medicine is an honorable profession which should be recognized as vital to the high standards of healthcare and quality diagnostics throughout the City of Klamath Falls area;

Whereas, during national Medical Laboratory Professionals’ Week, we shall pay tribute to the hard work and dedication of the Medical Laboratory Practitioners who provide high­ quality care and contribute to the overall health for people in our region; and

Therefore, l, Carol Westfall, Mayor of the City of Klamath Falls, Oregon, do hereby proclaim April 24 – 30, 2022 as Medical Laboratory Professionals’ Week in the City of Klamath Falls and call upon all citizens to recognize the Medical Laboratory Professionals within our community, and thank them for safeguarding the health and wellness of our citizens.

IN WITNESS, WHEREOF I hereunto set my hand and have caused the Seal of the City of Klamath Falls be affixed along-side the Medical Laboratory Professionals seal stamped herein on this day of April 18th, 2022.
