Thursday, January 14, 2021, nurses in the pediatric unit opened dozens of Amazon packages full of new movies. These movies were donated to the hospital from generous individuals and families on behalf of Esther, a former patient in the pediatrics unit.

This week, Sky Lakes Medical Center is displaying the certification “seal” that was recently given to the community as a way to commemorate Klamath Falls becoming the first certified Blue Zones Community in the Pacific Northwest.
“Before the pandemic, Bowen would treat the patient for a day or two and then they would get better and move to another unit. But these patients end up staying days or weeks in the ICU. And then suddenly they might die.”
For the last 16 years the employees of Sky Lakes have adopted families of the Klamath Basin in need.
