Nurse Intern 

The Nurse Intern position offers aspiring nurses hands-on clinical experience with patient care after they complete their first year of nursing school. The nurse internship allows students to gain experience in an area of interest within the hospital setting.

Nurse Intern to Nurse Resident

 

When you are nearing graduation from nursing school, consider continuing your career at Sky Lakes with our Nurse Residency program. Our one-year Nurse Residency program helps new nurses transition from nursing school to their nursing careers by providing support and building confidence in their clinical decision-making and leadership skills.

OSBN Nurse Intern License Requirements

 

  • Must have CNA certificate
  • Submit a (no fee) application for a Nurse Intern License through the Oregon State Board of Nursing. License expires 30 days after the end of every term/semester. Nurse Intern must submit a new application prior to expiration with good academic standing verification for renewal to be granted.
  • BLS certification – Sky Lakes can help you complete this
  • Has completed at least one full year of a board-approved nursing program
  • Has completed at least one term or semester in a nursing course that contains a direct-care component of nursing practice experience
