Rehabilitation Services

Our physical and occupational therapists play a critical role in your recovery before, during and after your joint replacement surgery. Education begins before your surgery so you know what to expect and how to have a successful recovery and get back to doing the activities you love.

Patients attend a preoperative education class – taught by Sky Lakes Rehabilitation Services –to learn about their joint replacement. During this class, patients learn what to expect during their hospital stay, how to prepare their home for when they return, what their coach and family members should expect, and what to do prior to the surgery.

When patients are preparing for surgery, they choose a family member or other person who acts as the coach and helps support the patient in the preoperative class, during their hospital stay and knowing how to help when the patient is discharged.

Physical therapy is vital for a strong recovery. Although there are many choices for outpatient physical therapy, only Sky Lakes Outpatient Rehabilitation is a member of the Center for Total Joint and Spine Care.
