Celebrate Your Care Team This May

Nurses’ week is May 6-12 and National Hospital week is May 11-17

Nurses’ Week May 6-12, 2025

Nurses’ week celebrates nurses in hospitals and clinics who provide care, teach, and support patient safety. During National Nurses’ Week, hospitals and health systems host events, express appreciation, and support programs that recognize nurses for their dedication to serving their patients and communities.

Nurses make lasting impacts throughout every stage of their patients’ lives. The public is encouraged to recognize and thank nurses for their contributions and service.

National Hospital Week May 11-17, 2025

National Hospital week recognizes the thousands of hospitals, health systems, and healthcare workers in the U.S. for their service to their communities and patients.

Health systems and hospitals are the backbone of their communities. They not only support health and wellness in their patients, but they also invest in their communities through employment, education opportunities, resource-based services, and public programs.

But what makes a hospital? The employees that provide care, keep the hospital clean, maintain the function of the hospital, organize resources and events, and everyone else responsible for making a hospital a place where people can heal.

Caregivers and healthcare workers face unique challenges yet still show up and do their best every day. A community cannot thrive without the thankless work of health care workers.

Doctors’ day and care teams

While Doctor’s Day was March 30, providers are a vital part of any health system. It’s important during National Hospital week to recognize doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician’s assistants who provide excellent care in clinics, hospitals, and emergency rooms.

How to celebrate your care team.

This May, you can celebrate your care team in a variety of ways, but you don’t have to wait for May to come around to do it. Here are ways you can recognize and appreciate your care team year round

  • Nominate an excellent caregiver for a reward. Many health systems and hospitals have reward programs for their employees who go above and beyond for their patients.
  • Send appreciation cards, letters, gifts, or art to local hospital employees by organizing with the hospital’s volunteer or community relations teams.
  • Leave positive reviews for your care team on their clinic or hospital’s google business profile.
  • Complete and submit comment forms. At Sky Lakes, care teams and employees who receive compliments through our “we are listening” and “contact us” forms are notified and acknowledged for their excellence.
