Stewart Decker, MD

Family Medicine

Biography

Stewart Decker MD, MPH, FAAFP, FWMS is a family physician who loves public health. He is a past president of the Oregon Academy of Family Physicians and board member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the medical director of the Sky Lakes Wellness Center and the Sky Lakes Primary Care Clinic, and works with his local public health department to improve the health of his community in the broadest sense possible. He believes that community development, social norms, and systemic change to our healthcare system are the only equitable solutions to a growing crisis of preventable non-communicable diseases. He has completed a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University and is a fellow of both the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Wilderness Medicine Society. Outside of the office he loves both indoor activities (board games, D&D, exercise videos) and outside activities (biking, hiking, skiing and running). If you’re wondering if he will like an activity, a good general rule is that anything that gets him more vitamin D makes him happy.

Dr. Decker’s special interests include: Public Health (especially social norms and the built environment), population health, preventive medicine, lifestyle medicine, and obesity medicine.

When Dr. Decker isn’t at the clinic, he likes to go climbing, hiking, biking (road, gravel, mountain), and skiing (cross country and down hill). He also enjoys cooking, waterfowl hunting, and board games.
