Kendra Drake, SLP

Biography

Kendra Drake, MA, CCC-SLP earned her Master’s of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2015 from California State University, Chico, in Chico, CA. She has additional certifications/trainings in the following areas: PROMPT (provides oral motor support to facilitate movement of the facial muscles to produce target sounds in children), MBSIMP for both adults and children (able to perform modified barium swallow x-ray studies on infants, children, and adults), SOS approach to feeding (able to provide feeding therapy based on the sensory oral approach based out of UC Davis). Kendra previously worked for Early Childhood Intervention and is currently contracted with the Klamath County School District part time. She enjoys learning about swallowing safety and function as well as how to help people communicate effectively and efficiently. She loves learning about Augmentative, Alternative, Communication (speech generating devices specifically) and social communication strategies for children. She works with people ages 0-100 to support and improve swallowing function, social skills, speech, and language skills and enjoys all ages. She loves learning about her patient’s goals and how she can be a part of the process to achieve them. In her free time, she spends her time with her family; she and her husband have 6 children and they love to spend time with them outdoors or playing games. she also a wide variety of pets and enjoys taking care of them with her children.
