Emily Mountz, DO is a board-certified family medicine physician with a passion for whole-person, individualized care. She sees patients in both the outpatient Sky Lakes Primary Care Clinic and the hospital setting, and offers specialty services in hands-on osteopathic manual medicine and treatment (OMM/OMT) as part of her outpatient practice.
She completed her residency at Cascades East Family Medicine where she fell in love with the Klamath Basin, developed a strong connection to the community, and is now proud to call this special place her forever home. Prior to residency, Dr. Mountz earned her degree from Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM) where she graduated with honors, was the 2020 Student Doctor of the Year, and achieved the Legacy Memorial Award.
Her non-traditional path to medicine took her from a childhood in rural New Mexico, to skiing for the US Women’s Alpine team, earning her B.S. in Geology from Colby College, and eventually teaching high school in Colorado before suffering a severe head injury. During a plateau in her lengthy recovery, she was introduced to the first healthcare provider who truly began to help her heal: an osteopath practicing OMM. A catalyst for her decision to pursue the profession herself, Dr. Mountz finally found where she belonged.
Outside of work, Dr. Mountz enjoys spending time with her husband and fur babies, being with friends in the great outdoors, reading everything Canvasback Books has to offer, Wingspan (board game), Tarot, and doing her best to be present through all the turns of life.
