Dallas grew up in New Bridge, Oregon – in a valley sandwiched by Hells Canyon and the Wallowa Mountains. After graduating from college at Western Oregon University, he and his wife (Katie) spent their life savings to road trip through Mexico – volunteering on gardens, working in public health and community museums, and learning to surf. After returning to Oregon, Dallas began work for the Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality while Katie initially became a high school teacher before transitioning to becoming a vegetable farmer. After graduation from OHSU medical school and the completion of a Fogarty-Fulbright grant in Tumbes, Peru studying neurocysticercosis – Dallas came to Klamath Falls for residency at CEFM before staying on as faculty. His professional interests are in quality improvement, healthcare and community partnerships, and ultrasound. Outside of work he loves pop music, reading, and cooking, preserving and eating the spare produce from Sweet Union Farm.
