Mohs Surgery now available at Sky Lakes Dermatology Clinic
Mohs surgery is a procedure designed to help with the treatment of skin cancer. It allows for the precise removal of cancer while protecting and conserving as much healthy tissue as possible.
The removed tissue is examined under a microscope while the patient waits, to see if there is any evidence of remaining cancer.
If there is evidence of remaining cancer, the patient will undergo another procedure to precisely remove only cancer cells and protect healthy tissue until there is no cancer detected.
The precision of the Mohs procedure helps protect healthy skin and minimizes scarring. The process takes place in the clinic, and the patient goes home the same day.

Be Sun Smart in Oregon’s Sunniest City
Free sunscreen dispensers installed in local parks!
Living in Oregon’s Sunniest City gives us many days for recreation, but it also means that we need to be careful to avoid sunburns and skin cancer.
If you have ever been enjoying a sunny day and realized that you forgot your sunscreen, you will now find free sunscreen dispensers in: Eulalona Park, Klamath Commons, and Moore Park.
The City of Klamath Falls and Sky Lakes are supporting these dispensers with SPF 30 sunscreen available where people hike, bike, and play. More locations may be added in the future.
