Klamath Falls Farmers Market

Growing a Community Gathering Place .

Last season the Klamath Farmers Market celebrated 25 years of bringing together locally grown produce and fine artisan handcrafted goods in a welcoming and engaging downtown gathering place. It’s this unique open-air market that serves as a connecting point for socializing, meeting local producers, experiencing local food and culture, and as a small business incubator that keeps people coming back year after year. It brings an array of people with different lived experiences together as one community. A typical market day on Saturday will see an average of 800 people, including our four-legged friends. The vendors are your local farmers, ranchers, friends, and neighbors. The truest representation of keeping it local!

The Klamath Falls Farmers Market has grown from a few farm stands to a 22-week Saturday market with 106 unique vendors.

2025 season

For the 2025 season, there will be up to 15 local produce vendors and over 30 local artisans. You can also enjoy live-local music at market all season from the Basin’s popular folk musicians. Mark your calendars now; every Saturday starting May 27 running through October 28.

Kick-off your Farmers Market Season by attending the Season Opener & Plant sale May 27 where you will find local veggie and other plant starts for your backyard garden. Local starts are the best because they are hardened to our climate.

Multiple ways to purchase

Klamath County poverty rates are consistently high relative to the rest of the state (KLA 19.6%, OR 12.4%). The Klamath Falls Farmers Market in 2009 was to make the market eligible to receive SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits. Since then, the Market has continued to receive funds to maintain the nutrition incentive programs and educate vendors on the importance of supporting them. These nutrition incentive programs, ranging from self-funded matches using profits from a volunteer-led lemonade stand at the market, to state/federal Double Up Food Bucks, have helped increase revenues for agriculture vendors and have attracted new audiences to the market. In 2023, market producers received $16,366 in Double Up Food Bucks, and $21,253 from SNAP benefits.

WIC

This year will be Klamath Falls Farmers Market’s 7th season being a WIC voucher site. The way this works is by hosting WIC voucher distribution days where Klamath County WIC attends the market one Saturday in July and another day in August. This provides WIC recipients access to local produce at the peak of the produce season. Ask about Klamath Falls Farmers Market WIC distribution days at the Klamath County WIC office or at the Klamath Falls Farmers Market information booth during the 2025 season.

Double up Food Bucks

Klamath Falls Farmers Market is pleased to partner with Farmers Market Fund to provide the Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) program to its shoppers.

Double Up Food Bucks provides free matching funds for SNAP participants to purchase healthy, locally grown fruits and vegetables. For every dollar spent on SNAP-eligible foods at participating farmers markets, Double up Food Bucks participants receive an additional dollar to spend on regionally grown fruits and vegetables up to a preset amount.

To use this benefit, shoppers bring their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards to their local market’s information booth, where they can swipe their cards to receive SNAP tokens and Double Up Food Bucks to spend at vendor booths. This year, the daily matching amount has doubled from $10 to $20 of additional funds to spend on locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables. A family that spends $20 of its SNAP benefits at the market will receive an additional $20 in Double Up Food Bucks to spend on fresh produce.

The market needs you

Volunteers are what allows the market to accept SNAP and conduct Double up Food Bucks each year. Klamath Falls Farmers Market needs your help. Please consider signing up to help on one or more Saturdays this season. It is easy to volunteer, and you will get to see and interact with your friends and neighbors.
