As one, we rise.
As one, we play.
When a community builds something together, it’s never just about the end result. It’s about connection, access, and a shared vision of what the future can look like.
“Play is so valuable, It makes us happier people. It brings us together.”
You don’t always expect transformation to begin with a sketch from a second grader. But that’s how this one started.
The Moore Park Playground project began with a vision: create a place where everyone in Klamath Falls—regardless of age or ability—could play, move, and be together. From the beginning, families were invited into the process. Children were asked to draw their dream playground. Local designers listened. The design not only reflected the vision of Klamath’s children, but also told the story of the community itself. From the F15 jet to the Crater Lake water features to the ADA-accessible design, this playground is both practical and deeply personal.
“This playground is supporting all ages, all different abilities and increasing access to play together, to form closer relationships, to, have meaningful experiences.”
Parents and city leaders rolled up their sleeves. More than 250 community members volunteered to help build it. Local businesses, grant makers, and individuals donated what they could. Piece by piece, a new kind of space began to take shape.

It’s not just about play; it’s about pride and belonging. It’s about a grandmother being able to play with her grandkids. About families with children of different abilities finally being able to play together. It’s about families not just watching from the sidelines, but joining in together.
Projects like this shape more than a park. They shape who we are. And at Sky Lakes, we believe building a healthier Klamath starts with moments like these where joy, movement, and connection meet.
“We want Klamath Falls to be a place where people want to come live, work, learn, and play, and play helps create that vibrant and thriving community that we want to see Klamath be.”
MORE STORIES
As one, we create.
In a Downtown Klamath Falls alleyway once easy to overlook, something new is taking root. A group of like-minded community partners and local artists came together to honor women who helped shape the Klamath community through leadership, creativity, service, and love.
“Public art makes you think differently, makes you connect differently, and it inspires you.”
