Lindsay Family

As one, we rise.

As one, we ride.

What starts as a ride through the woods can become a journey toward something more. For the Lindsay family, mountain biking isn’t just recreation, it’s connection, confidence, and a path to growth. From weekend rides to national races, Elizabeth’s story shows how trails can shape young athletes, bond families, and create lifelong memories.

“It’s still fun to come back and ride with them.”

Being outside was always part of life for the Lindsay family. Riding through the woods, exploring trails together, building a childhood shaped by movement and nature. But for Elizabeth, those outings sparked something more: a passion for racing that now takes her to state and national competitions.

It started with training wheels. And a dad, Jess, ready to lift her bike over rocks or give a gentle push up a steep hill, until the day she said, “No. You’re not pushing me. I’ve got this.”

From that moment on, everything changed.

“They taught me how to ride bikes and they got me into biking and, and now I’m racing at a really high level, but it’s still fun to come back and ride with them.”

What began as family fun became a shared pursuit. And with every ride, Elizabeth grew in confidence, strength, and skill, eventually outgrowing her bike, outpacing the trails, and landing on the podium at state.

Now, she’s not just racing, she’s leading. Teaching her parents, coaching new riders, and pushing herself further with every mile.
“She inspires us,” Jess says. “She teaches us. And we love that.”

This is what Klamath’s trail system makes possible. With support from Klamath Trails Alliance and advocates like Josh Nelson, families like the Lindsays  have access to high-quality, accessible trails—these trails aren’t just for training—they’re for bonding, wellness, and joy. They’re where families make memories. Where kids surprise their parents. Where confidence grows with every ride.

And for the Lindsays, riding has become more than a hobby. It’s a shared language—one that says: we believe in each other. We push forward. And we keep going, together.

“We love it when she can teach us things because you feel that love. You feel that kindness being shared back.”

As one, we play.

When a community builds something together, it’s never just about the end result. It’s about connection, access, and a shared vision of what the future can look like.

“Play is so valuable, It makes us happier people. It brings us together.”
