Give Back Day is simple. People across Klamath choose a volunteer project, show up, and spend a few hours helping out the community. The projects look different, but the reason is the same. It feels good to give something back to a place that gives so much.

Give Back Day is a day of service. People across Klamath choose a project, show up, and spend a few hours working alongside others who came for the same reason.
Some projects are outdoors. Some are inside. Some require tools. Some require paper, markers, or jars of jelly. The point is not that every project looks the same. The point is that people find a way to help.
“When you’re out there volunteering, everybody is out there for the same purpose. They all want to give back.”
Give Back Day brings together projects from across the community so people can find a place to serve. In one part of town, volunteers help maintain the Pioneer Cemetery for Klamath Falls, taking down trees, filling sunken graves, and doing beautification work. In other places, people clean trails, create cards, or gather food donations. One year, students helped collect jelly after learning the food bank had plenty of peanut butter, but not enough jelly.
The work can be practical. It can be small. It can be the kind of thing someone else might never notice. But the people doing it notice.
That is part of what makes Give Back Day work. It gives people a clear place to start. A project. A time. A group of people already there. When several projects happen on the same day, the effort becomes easier to see. You can drive around town and notice people working. You can see what neighbors are doing. You can feel that something is happening.
Klamath has a lot of great things going for it. Give Back Day is one way people protect that. One morning, one project, one person at a time. Because communities function better when people care, make an effort, and give.
