China Rae Newman, MD is a family physician who is passionate about primary care. She graduated in 2024 from the Cascades East Family Medicine Residency through OHSU in Klamath Falls, and chose to stay in town after falling in love with the community- so much, in fact, that she moved her parents here, too! She chose family medicine because of its focus on people, its emphasis on prevention and patient-clinician alliances, and because it calls on doctors to advocate for the wellbeing of their patients and their community. She was born and raised in Arizona, and is the first physician in her family. She graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, and holds dual-degrees in biology and English from their undergraduate program. She is also the vice-president of the Klamath County Medical Society. Outside of the office, she loves to read, create art, play board games, bake, cook, pet her cats, help with the family garden and chickens, and also enjoys getting outside for a hike or even just a walk with her husband. When she’s not working, you might find her at a local book club or on one of the nearby trails with a friend or two. She is overjoyed to be a part of the Sky Lakes Family and excited to continue to serve wonderful community of Klamath Falls and the surrounding areas.
China’s special interests are preventive medicine, Adult primary care, Women’s health (including long acting reversible contraception), Gender affirming care, Neonatal and pediatric primary care, care of multiple members of the same family.
