Did you know that physical activity and physical exercise are similar, but different?

If you are reading this, then odds are you are likely starting or improving your workout program! This post is to help you understand more about working out and how to be successful. before you get started.
Working out has many different looks and styles all with the sate purpose physical exercise. “Physical exercise” AND physical activity” make up your physical fitness and contribute to your health.

Typically, for the best success there needs to be a balance between the two.

 

    • Physical Activity is defined as voluntary movement which encompasses any movement during leisure time, transportation, work, or hobbies. An example is someone’s total steps during work or walking their dog.
    • Physical Exercise is defined as planned, structured, and repetitive movement in order to increase or maintain one’s physical fitness and overall health. An example is doing squats, crunches, push-ups, pull-ups, bicep curls, and step ups for 20 repetitions each, 3 days a week.
