Sky Lakes Cancer Treatment Center organizes and hosts an assortment of education and support groups to help patients and those who love them.
Women’s Exercise Group
Our women’s exercise group is a gentle exercise class held at Sky Lakes Wellness Center, 128 S. 11th St., and is specially designed for cancer patients and survivors.
The class consist of 30 minutes circuit training and 30 minutes of chair yoga to help you increase strength and flexibility, and is taught by a certified fitness instructor who is in tune to the sensitive needs of your body.

Step It Up! Sunshine City Strollers Walking Group
In efforts to help lower the burden of cancer within our community we have implemented an evidence-based walking program that meets every Tuesday.
Open to all cancer patients, survivors, family, and friends. We have two walking leaders present each week to help lead our walkers. With access to indoor and outdoor space, we will walk rain/snow/shine. Please join us in supporting our community members as they travel through their cancer journey. Mindfulness Through Cancer
Mindfulness Through Cancer is an eight-week course taken from the book Mindfulness-Based Cancer Recovery by Linda E. Carlson, Ph.D., R.PSYCH, and Michael Speca, PSY.D., R.PSYCH. This class presents a mind-body approach to healing through cancer treatment and survivorship. The class is free and books and supplies will be provided at no cost.
With this eight-week program you will learn to:
- Use proven mindfulness-based stress-reduction skills during your treatment and recovery;
- Boost your immune function through meditation and healing yoga;
- Calm feelings of fear, uncertainty, and lack of control;
- Mindfully manage difficult symptoms and side effects; and
- Discover your own capacity for healing and thriving after adversity.
When: 5-6 p.m. Mondays starting January 21, 2019
Where: Sky Lakes Community Health Education Center, 2200 N Eldorado
The class is free, but you must register.

Quarterly Cancer Educational Lectures
Our cancer educational lectures are open to all cancer patients, survivors, their friends and family, and to anyone wanting to learn more about traversing the cancer journey. Each quarter we will host a guest speaker to discuss relevant cancer related issues. Light lunch is provided. Think About Your Life
Think About Your Life is an eight-week course comes from Amanda George, founder of Think About Your Life. This course will help cancer patients and survivors navigate their journey through and beyond cancer. Each week you will learn applicable tools that help you walk through your cancer journey, even on those days you do not want to. Cost: Free; books and supplies will be provided at no cost.
When: Mondays starting April 1 and ending May 20 Time: 5-6 p.m. Where: Community Health Education Center, 2200 N Eldorado Ave.
