Physical Therapy

Biography

Maureen Somers (aka “Mo”) was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. After graduating from Northern Arizona University with a BS in Physical Therapy in 1986, she was happy to leave the heat and move to Oregon. This desert girl now loves the four seasons and to this day still gets excited every time it snows! Maureen is very grateful she chose Physical Therapy as a career, saying it has been “a good ride”. She feels blessed with a career that has brought such enjoyment and challenge. It is a pleasure to go to work each day, develop rapport with patients, and work to create meaningful change in their lives. When moving to Oregon, she had no idea she would end up staying for her entire career! But it has been an honor to work with so many smart, talented and inspiring therapists and staff over the years, and exciting to watch both the rehab and medical fields grow and change. This job frequently brings new challenges, and Mo enjoys researching, attending continuing education classes and brainstorming with colleagues to stay current. Currently her work passion is treating women, men and children with pelvic floor-related issues, and continuing to develop leadership skills. Outside of work, Mo is active in operating a food pantry at her church. She also enjoys hiking and traveling with friends and family.
