While here, you may hear about "Ask Me 3." Ask Me 3 is a patient education program designed to improve communication between patients and their healthcare providers, encourage patients to become active members of their healthcare team, and promote improved health outcomes.
At Sky Lakes, the program encourages patients to ask their nurses and physicians three questions:
- What is my main problem?
- What do I need to do?
- Why is it important for me to do this?
Studies show that people who understand health instructions make fewer mistakes when they take their medicine or prepare for a medical procedure. They may also get well sooner or be able to better manage a chronic health condition. Click here to view an informative video about Ask Me 3.
If you or a loved one needs continued skilled care outside the hospital, transportation, special medical equipment or other needs, Sky Lakes resource management is here to help.
Our specialists can help you with crisis intervention or help you meet your emotional needs following a life event. Please feel to call us at 541.274.6282.
Helping people is what we do.
Mail and flowers
Few things can brighten your hospital room like mail and flowers. Sky Lakes Medical Center volunteers will deliver flowers to your room within minutes after they arrive from the florist. Because of concern for allergies, flowers will be delivered to patients in ICU rooms at the discretion of the nursing staff. If you have already left the hospital, the flowers will be returned to the florist for delivery to your home.
A parking area for recreational vehicles is available to patients and their families for a nominal donation. It is located across the street just south of the Family Birth Center entrance on the south side of the hospital.
Call the Sky Lakes Cancer Treatment Center, 541.274.4171, for more information about RV parking.
