Adolescents 12 and older can now get a COVID-19 vaccine

Vaccine approved for adolescents – Children aged 12-15 can get vaccinations using the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine beginning today following approval late Wednesday by the Oregon Health Authority, marking an important step in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The FDA cleared the vaccine for emergency use in that age group Monday, saying it was safe and effective.

Vaccination clinic -- Vaccinations for persons 12 and older will be given 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (0800 to 1300) Saturday, May 15, at Sky Lakes Collaborative Health Center using the Pfizer vaccine. Those 12-14 will need a parent or guardian present to sign vaccination consents. Call the Sky Lakes Vaccination Scheduling Center, 1-833-606-4370, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
