Pulmonary care at Sky Lakes Medical Center is among the top 10 percent in the nation, according to a national study by Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.

This achievement is part of findings featured in the Healthgrades 2019 Report to the Nation. Every year, Healthgrades evaluates performance at almost 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 32 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions using data provided by 15 states and the District of Columbia.

Sky Lakes was also recognized for achieving:

  • Five-Star recipient for Treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease for three years in a row (2017-2019); and
  • Five-Star recipient for Treatment of Pneumonia in 2019.

“Recognition by a well-respected organization such as Healthgrades of the quality of care available at Sky Lakes validates our long-standing commitment to excellence,” said Sky Lakes President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Stewart. “It also recognizes the support we receive from the community that allows us to innovate and continually strive to improve.”

“Information about hospital quality is helpful as they make decisions for their health,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Healthgrades. “Sky Lakes Medical Center has distinguished itself as an exceptional organization for pulmonary care.”

For its analysis, Healthgrades evaluated approximately 45 million Medicare inpatient records for almost 4,500 short-term acute care hospitals nationwide to assess hospital performance in 32 common conditions and procedures.
