Becker's Hospital Review named Sky Lakes Medical Center to the industry journal's "100 Great Community Hospitals" list, which is "based on community hospitals' accolades, quality and service to their communities."

Becker's, a well-respected industry publication, also named Asante, of Medford, and Salem Hospital to the list.

"Whether independent or part of a larger health system, the (listed) hospitals have continually worked to provide the quality of care and the experience patients deserve and expect," the story states.

In the listing the piece says of the medical center: "Sky Lakes Medical Center earned the Joint Replacement Excellence Award from Healthgrades in 2014 — it regularly reports zero infections for its 300-plus joint replacement cases each year."

Sky Lakes was the first in the West to be designated a Center for Advanced Recovery for joint-replacement patients by Stryker Performance Solutions.

The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected community hospitals based on rankings and awards from iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters), CareChex, and the American Hospital Association.

The listing is a reflection of the considerable hard work by everyone in our organization at every level. It is independent third-party validation of that work and a continued commitment to excellent patient care and patient safety, said Sky Lakes President and CEO Paul Stewart.
