Planting day planned for OIT Geo-Trail
Community members are invited to a planting day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday along the Geo-Trail at Oregon Tech, according to a news release.
Participants will learn about native plant communities in the Klamath Basin and help beautify the newly developed trail with staff and volunteers from Oregon Tech, the Klamath Trails Alliance, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Sky Lakes Medical Center.
Volunteers will help plant native species around the trail and at a monarch butterfly pollinator station.
Participants are asked to bring a lunch, wear closed-toed shoes and work clothes, and to bring gloves if you have them. The Geo-Trail is at the northeast corner of the campus, at 3201 Campus Drive, near Sky Lakes Medical Center and across from the softball field. This event is weather permitting.
