Living Well with Chronic Conditions workshop continues

Registration is available for Living Well with Diabetes, the second of four healthy living workshops, begins Tuesday, Feb. 9.

This free workshop is part of the Living Well with Chronic Conditions series offered in partnership with the Klamath Basin Research and Extension Center, Sky Lakes Medical Center, Klamath County Public Health, Klamath Basin Senior Citizens Center, Klamath Tribal Health and Klamath and Lake Counties Council on Aging.

Living Well with Diabetes will be offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from Feb. 9 through March 15 at Sky Lakes Outpatient Care Management, 1930 S. Sixth St.

During the interactive workshop, participants will be provided with tools for living with chronic health conditions. Participants will get support for continuing normal daily activities and dealing with the emotions that chronic conditions may bring about. The workshop teaches real-life skills for living a full, healthy life with a chronic condition. Trained volunteer leaders, who are living with chronic conditions themselves, will teach participants how to manage their symptoms and medications, work with health care providers, problem-solve, improve communication, handle difficult emotions and eat well and exercise safely.

Other upcoming workshops include:

  • Living Well with Chronic Conditions, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting Feb. 23 through March 29, at Faith Tabernacle, 2610 Shasta Way
  • Living Well with Diabetes, 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thursdays starting March 3 through April 7 at the Washington Federal Conference Center, 5215 S. Sixth St.

To sign up for the workshop, call the senior center at 541-883-7171.
