MA Apprenticeship Program

Through the Earn & Learn Program, you can earn between $17 and $25 an hour as a full-time benefited Sky Lakes employee. You participate in a one-year apprenticeship program that includes 2,000 hours of practice with online courses and labs in the career pipeline of your choice (clinic nursing, hospital nursing, laboratory).

CNA Training Program

The nursing assistant program is done in partnership with Klamath Community College.The cost of the program and books is completely covered by Sky Lakes Medical Center. Once you have been licensed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing you will be offered employment as a CNA at Sky Lakes.


  • Must be at least 18, have a high school degree or GED

  • Have good communication, interpersonal relations, and customer service skills

  • Background and drug screening prior to admittance

Current Employees

Education for ONA Nurses

ONA RN staff have the benefit per ONA contract to use Non-Mandatory Education Funds through the PNCC. These are to attend nursing conferences, on-line courses, and certification resources in their individual professional development. RNs on Staff are able to use funds to pay for conferences, certifications, online courses, and certification prep materials.

Tuition Reimbursement

Sky Lakes Medical Center encourages current employees to continue their formal education in fields that are related to their employment at Sky Lakes. Eligible employees must be employed at least half time and been employed at least six months.

What We Cover:

  • Up to $5,250 for undergraduate education per fiscal year (post graduate education based on individual agreement).

  • Associates, Bachelors

  • Individual academic courses

  • Certificates and Certifications

  • Prior assessments and tests for credits towards an approved degree
