Our latest Bee Awardee is Kelly, CNA-II! Kelly is a member of Flex Team so she spends her time working where she is needed most. She may be in the COVID-19 unit one day and the Emergency Department the next. Kelly’s diligent care for her patients is what earned her the Bee award. Congratulations Kelly!

Here are some highlights from Kelly’s nomination:

“I feel I have received excellent care from Kelly and if I had the money I would hire her full-time for me at home.”

In addition to caring for her patient, Kelly’s nominator noted that she did additional things “like plugging in my phone and doing what she can to calm me down” and “helping me out to relax and breath.”

Kelly’s nomination ends with

“I will miss her the most.”

The BEE Award recognizes non-nurse care team members for their “extraordinary, compassionate and skillful care to help make a difference in the lives of our patients” and is based on nominations from patients, families and colleagues. The award complements the DAISY Award for nurses.

Just as the daisy cannot survive without the bee, nurses cannot survive without the outstanding teamwork provided by other colleagues. You can learn more about the Bee award or submit an online nomination form.
