Sky Lakes staff are encouraged to participate in the Get There Oregon Challenge between October 4 and 17, 2021. This challenge is hosted by the Oregon Department of Transportation and promotes employers to encourage their employees to reduce carbon emissions and burn calories through carpooling, ride sharing, walking or biking to work, or working remotely. This challenge doesn’t exclude those who don’t live close to work.

Participants can log their commute activity through their challenge account to get points, unlock achievements, and win prizes at the end of each week.

Anyone 18 and older that lives or works in Oregon is eligible to participate and win prizes. You can enter the challenge at any time during the 14 day challenge period.

Dr. Stewart Decker, our champion for the challenge said in encouragement to fellow Sky Lakes Employees “I think that the thing that has kept me the happiest and most sane in the last 10 years (med school, residency, first years as an attending, COVID, = chronic feelings of sleeplessness, anxiety, and stress) has been combining my exercise and commute. I actually have time to move this way, and feel efficient, awake, and exercised each day.”
