Volunteer Opportunities
Guild volunteers are valued members of the Sky Lakes Medical Center family. Our nearly 300 caring volunteer members of Sky Lakes Medical Center Guild are a daily reminder of our community's dedication to family-centered health care.
For more than four decades, young and young-at-heart Guild volunteers have given countless hours to give a personal touch to the medical excellence at Sky Lakes Medical Center. Last year, nearly 300 Guild members donated more than 38,000 hours of service to help their community medical center.
Guild volunteer projects include:
• Greeting patients and visitors at our Information Desk
• Sewing more than 100 lap robes a year to donate to patients
• Sponsoring and hosting the Red Cross Bloodmobile
• Delivering complimentary copies of daily newspapers to patients
• Operating The Link gift shop and giving profits to benefit the medical center
• Creating more than 2,400 hand puppets for young patients each year
• Delivering mail and flowers to patients
• Awarding Oregon Institute of Technology scholarships to nursing, medical imaging, vascular imaging and nuclear medicine students.
Whether you’re retired, a career professional, a high school student or homemaker, the Sky Lakes Medical Center Guild has a volunteer opportunity for you. Assignments are made based on your skills and interests. Details on joining the Guild and an application for our volunteer program. (PDF)
