Sky Lakes Medical Center

Surgical Services

No matter what surgical procedure you are considering, we understand that you expect the best possible medical care. Whether your procedure is performed on an outpatient basis (day surgery) or if you need to spend the night in the hospital, your safety and comfort are our primary concerns.

We offer comprehensive medical care so you can rest assured that no matter what happens during your procedure, we have the experience and technology to handle it appropriately.

Sky Lakes Medical Center voluntarily undergoes regular surveys by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). JCAHO accreditation requires that our facility pass strict guidelines for equipment, staff, hospital access, and anesthesia administration. We strive to provide our patients with the most pleasant, safe, and positive experience possible.

The department of surgery includes the operating rooms (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Day Surgery Unit (DSU), and the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in the Medical Office Building. We provide six surgical suites in the OR and additional rooms set aside for cystoscopy and endoscopy. Additionally, there are two surgical suites in the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Select registered nurses, surgical technologists and perioperative nurse assistants staff the surgery department.

The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit has eight patient care areas for post-anesthesia recovering of patients and is staffed by specialized registered nurses.

Special registered nurses and certified nurses’ aides also staff the Day Surgery Unit. There are 15 patient care bays. The Ambulatory Surgery Center has nine patient care spaces.

Our seven anesthesiologists provide anesthesia services. Our anesthesiologists are also independent physicians who have their practices at Sky Lakes Medical Center.
