Mammography

Mammography is the X-ray examination of breasts to image breast tissues. The goal is to detect breast cancer in its early stages for early treatment.

Cameo Breast Health Center has consistently earned top scores from the Federal Department of Health and Human Services and the Oregon Health Division – including a perfect score in a recent inspection. You can be confident that at our Cameo Breast Health Center mammography and ultrasound exams are of the highest quality.

Cameo Breast Health Center also offers modern stereotactic breast biopsy. This non-surgical procedure uses sophisticated computers to search and define tumor tissue.

Cameo Breast Health Center works in conjunction with Sky Lakes Medical Center's Cancer Treatment Center, offering educational programs, counseling and support groups. Cameo Breast Health Center is open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The American Cancer Society urges women to make regular screening for breast cancer a part of their health plans using these guidelines:

Women age 20-39 should have a clinical breast exam by a doctor or nurse every three years, and do a self-exam every month.

Women aged 40 and older should have a mammogram every year, have a clinical breast exam by a doctor or a nurse every year, and do a breast self-exam every month.
