Quality - Quality Measures

Sky Lakes Medical Center strives to ensure our patients receive the highest levels of service during

their stay here.

In order to maintain our high standards of excellence, we regularly ask our patients and their families to share information about their experiences while here. We do this by mailing surveys as well as by asking questions in person or by telephone.

Press Ganey Associates, an industry leader in healthcare patient satisfaction, mails questionnaires to a randomly selected sample of patients following their discharge.

Patients choose a rating of Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor, Very Poor. The ratings are converted to a score (Very Good = 100, Good = 75, Fair = 50, Poor = 25, Very Poor = 0). The scores for all the questions are combined to calculate an average overall score for each patient. A perfect score of 100 means the patient answered all the questions as "Very Good." The overall scores for all patients are averaged together.

The Sky Lakes Medical Center scores are compared to approximately 1,200 hospitals nationwide with at least 150 beds and that participate in the Press Ganey Associates Inpatient Survey.
