Sky Lakes Medical Center

Quick to Find Fault

February 16, 2008

I am taking this opportunity to publicly thank some great medical providers we have in the Basin.

I recently went through a medical procedure that, were it not for the quick and accurate screening and treatment, could have led me on a path of long-term treatment to save my life.

It is not easy being a doctor – and people are so often quick to find fault and blame a medical provider.  The litigious attitude of our society places a heavy burden on doctors.  When did we forget that they are human beings?  Our expectations of them far outweigh our expectations of other.

Throughout my treatment, I was shown great respect and a high quality of care.  To Dr. Hilsinger, Dr. Fang and to my primary care provider Michael Sheets – you are my heroes!  Thanks to the good humored and qualified nurses, CNAs and volunteers at Sky Lake Medical Center.

It’s time for those of us who have had good medical experiences to stand up for our tireless and dedicated medical providers.  Personally, I can’t afford to lose them!
