Klamath Lucky to Have Medical CenterDecember 25, 2007 It has been a number of years since I have been a resident of Klamath Falls and I often forget what a great community it is. My most recent visit was one of misfortune in which we had to lay a most beloved family member to rest. Though this was (and still is) a most difficult time, I continue to reflect on the care we received at Sky Lakes Medical Center. I wanted to be sure your community recognizes how lucky it is to have such a great team of people caring for them through these challenges in life. Specifically, Barbara, Stan, Jodie, Dr. Rey and others working in ICU, I want to send a huge thanks for all they did for our family. Our large family took over the waiting area and rather than questioning our presence, they offered us more space and care. My sister was nurtured with kindness and care even when we knew her time was short. They allowed us 24-hour visitation and we are forever grateful for those last few hours we shared. They kindly set up meeting times within their busy schedules so that all members of our large family could be present for updates and questions. Their kindness truly went above and beyond, at times caring for us visitors through our sleepless days. I have worked in a medical setting for more than 15 years and I have never witnessed care of this magnitude. Thank you, again, for the respect and honor given to our family. May we all receive such exemplary care if faced with these needs in our life.
