Technology to heal. When it comes to radiation therapy for cancer, less is, quite frankly, more. Specifically, this means less radiation to healthy tissues and more to unwanted cancer cells.
In addition to other improvements, our new Electa Infinity radiation treatment unit (it went into operation in mid-2014) has the ability to perform a CT scan on our patients before their radiation. This allows CTC staff to know exactly where the cancerous tumors are in 3D. Sophisticated software also helps the oncology providers to account for respiratory motion when needed.
This technology minimizes the radiation of normal tissue, sparing patients some side effects of treatment. Call us to learn more, 541-274-4171.
