Cascades East Family Medicine Centeralt 

Cascades East Family Medicine Center offers primary care excellence in obstetrics, gynecological procedures, immunizations, cancer screening and procedures, lab and X-ray services, minor dermatological procedures, counseling and urgent care.  It also provides an orthopedic and sports medicine clinic serving pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

 

In conjunction with Oregon Health Sciences University, Sky Lake Medical Center’s Cascades East Family Medicine Center also conducts a residency program. Cascade East Family Medicine Residency Program is a three-year program that trains doctors who are interested in becoming family practice physicians in small towns.

 

The residency program is a joint project of Sky Lakes Medical Center and Oregon Health Sciences University. Local physicians and OHSU faculty administer the program and supervise residents when they see patients at the Cascades East Family Medicine Center. Each year students apply from all over the world for just eight openings in the program.

 

Residency training includes attending teaching conferences, assisting faculty with patients in each department of the hospital and eventually caring for their own patients under the program's supervision.

 

Every aspect of medical training in Klamath Falls is aimed at giving residents a solid background to take with them into the rural communities they will be serving.
